How does the Electronic Transmission of Prescriptions (ETP) help me?
First, MediSecure®'s ETP system makes the prescribing-dispensing process faster, safer and more reliable. This means time and cost savings for Doctors and Pharmacists.
The Doctor writes the prescription as usual. Their clinical system encrypts and posts the script to the MediSecure® Script Vault™ for secure storage. The pharmacy system can then call down the script when a patient presents an identifying token for that script.
MediSecure® reduces dispensing time whilst eliminating data entry mistakes. Scripts are downloaded from the MediSecure® Script Vault™ electronically, vastly reducing the time it takes to dispense scripts and without the risk of human error. Increased security measures with MediSecure® Scripts will greatly reduce the risk of script forgery.
Second, MediSecure®'s ETP system enables better medication management outcomes for patients and efficiencies for Doctors and Pharmacists.
MediSecure® allows doctors to be informed if and when a patient fills their prescription. This is extremely beneficial in treating chronic and serious illnesses.
Once sufficient Doctors and Pharmacists participate in MediSecure®, they can monitor their patient's complete medication record (subject to patient authorisation and privacy considerations). Enabling all authorised healthcare providers involved in a patient's care to view the consolidated medication record ensuring better health outcomes for the entire Australian community.
